Saint John’s Resumes Outpatient Services

Saint John’s Hospital and Health Care Center on Monday will reopen outpatient services damaged in the Jan. 17 earthquake.
Outpatient services in the Joyce Eisenberg Keefer Breast Center and Saint John’s Heart Institute will be available along with imaging, radiation oncology and nuclear medicine services in the south wing.
Administrators have said the badly damaged north wing will be razed and rebuilt. The south wing is expected to fully reopen by August and the undamaged west wing, where minor outpatient surgeries are performed, has been operating since the quake.
The damage forced the city’s largest employer to lay off 1,750 of its 2,000 employees. Administrators plan to meet today with workers to address the future of the hospital and possible rehiring.
