HBO Specials to Focus on Latino Comedians

Nineteen Latino comedians from six states will appear in “Loco Slam!,” a series of four stand-up comedy specials that taped in Los Angeles this week and will air on HBO later this year. Los Angeles comedian Carlos Mencia, the former host of “Comedy Compadres,” is programs’ host.

The specials, executive-produced by Nely Galan and Paul Rodriguez, are the inaugural productions for HBO’s Tropix, a new multimedia development company focusing on the English-speaking Latino market.
