Linebacker Albert Contreras of Valley College signed Thursday to play at Cal State Northridge next season, Valley Coach Jim Fenwick said.
Contreras, 6-feet, 235 pounds, was an All-Western State Conference South Division honorable mention selection last season and a second-team pick in 1992.
“He had some other schools that were interested in him, but he is so close to his family that he wanted to stay close to home,” Fenwick said. “He was one of our captains and a leader in a lot of ways.”
