The agencies will use the funds to repair their buildings, replace equipment or offer counseling to victims of the Jan. 17 earthquake.
In Los Angeles, 44 agencies have received United Way disaster funds. United Way raises funds for 300 community service organizations, including nine chapters of the American Red Cross.
