Del Webb Corp. to Expand Into Southern California: In its first move into a vast market for subdivision housing, the Phoenix-based developer said it has hired four top executives at Costa Mesa-based Meeker Cos. to run a new building subsidiary in the Southland. In the unusual deal, the executives will retain their jobs at Meeker while scouting for potential new Webb projects, the two companies said in a statement. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
