Maggie Dixon
SCHOOL: Notre Dame
SPORT: Basketball
YEAR: Junior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: The 6-foot-1 Dixon was switched from a post player to guard after transferring to Notre Dame from Immaculate Heart before the season. The adjustment has been difficult but successful. She averages 10.1 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: At the beginning of last week, Notre Dame Coach Rob DiMuro advised Dixon to “hit the glass” to improve her confidence. The result? Forty-nine rebounds in three games, all Notre Dame victories. Dixon, a multitalented player, also scored 34 points and blocked eight shots. “She can literally play every position on the floor,” DiMuro said. “She’s constantly working at a wide range of skills, where most kids are only working on one or two. She’s trying to polish them all.”
