Christie’s to Hold Open Appraisal Day
Christie’s New York auction house will hold an appraisal day next Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 342 N. Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.
The public is invited to bring artworks and collectibles--or photographs and documentation of them--to the event for free evaluations and appraisals.
The experts on hand will include Paul Jenkins, head of the collectibles department at Christie’s East, and Nancy Cerbone, a specialist in entertainment memorabilia.
One reason for staging appraisal days is to make the point that million-dollar paintings aren’t the only thing sold at auction, according to Kathleen Guzman, president of Christie’s East.
The average price of an item sold at Christie’s is $11,000.
