MANHATTAN BEACH : Mira Costa Football Champs to be Honored

A parade honoring the Mira Costa High School football team, winners of a Southern Section football title in December, is scheduled for Saturday in downtown Manhattan Beach.
Participants, including the football players, the school band and the drill team, will meet near City Hall on Valley Drive at 10 a.m., school officials said.
From there, they will march south on Valley Drive, then west on Manhattan Beach Boulevard to the Manhattan Beach Pier, where a half-hour awards ceremony is planned.
The parade is sponsored by the city, the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Business and Professional Assn.
