SEASON AT A GLANCE: The 6-foot-1 guard is a deadly shooter who averages 16.8 points a game. Lauer has helped the defending Marmonte League champion Lancers through difficult times. A sprained ankle limited star forward Jason Hartman to five points in two games last week, but Thousand Oaks has won seven in a row and is tied for the league lead.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Lauer carried the Lancers, leading Thousand Oaks to a pair of league victories. He had 30 points in a 60-50 victory over Newbury Park and 19 in a 52-44 victory over Agoura. Coach Ed Chevalier said the Lancers have kept rolling despite Hartman’s injury because Lauer has stepped up his game.
