Three 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of trying to rob a man and then shooting him in the leg after the victim said he did not have any money, police said Tuesday.
Two of the suspects are from Buena Park and one from Riverside County. They were placed in Orange County Juvenile Hall after their arrest about 7 p.m. Monday, Cypress Police Sgt. Larry Jordan said.
The shooting occurred about 5:45 p.m. Monday after the three teens demanded money from Bradley David Turner, 39, of Buena Park as he walked to his car in a parking lot in the 8600 block of Watson Street, police said.
After shooting Turner in the leg, the suspects drove away, Jordan said. A witness described the car to police, and officers later spotted it in La Palma.
Officers stopped the car in Los Angeles County and found a pistol and property believed to have been taken in Buena Park, Jordan said.
Turner was treated for his leg wound and released, Jordan said.
