Top Two Insurers Estimate Quake Losses: Allstate expects about $350 million in losses from the Northridge earthquake, while State Farm said losses will be at least $280 million. The companies are California’s two largest property-casualty insurers. State Farm has received about 74,000 claims, said a spokesman for the Bloomington, Ill.-based company. Allstate, based in Northbrook, Ill., said it has received more than 25,000 claims for auto and property damage.
