KOREATOWN : Benefit for Victims of Riots Rescheduled
A fund-raiser for the Korean-American Grocers’ Victims Assn., postponed following the earthquake, has been rescheduled for Tuesday at the Radisson Wilshire Plaza Hotel, 3515 Wilshire Blvd.
The association was established to assist and be an advocate for Korean American grocery store owners whose businesses were destroyed or damaged during the 1992 riots.
Only six of the 174 Korean American grocery store owners who lost their businesses have been able to rebuild, in large part because of new conditions and restrictions imposed on them by city authorities, said Min Paek, the association’s executive director.
The program begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50 each or $75 per couple.
Information: (213) 766-7437.
