A Matter of Taste

We have to wonder whether David Haldane really knows good Mexican food after reading his comments on Mi Casa in Cabo San Lucas (“Econo-Dive,” Jan. 2).
We have traveled extensively in Mexico for more than a decade and . . . recently spent a week in Cabo San Lucas. Out of seven nights, we ate at Mi Casa three and at Ponchos three; the other night at the charming Hotel Hacienda. True, Mi Casa may be expensive, but it is more than worth it. They feature sauces from all parts of Mexico. You don’t go there to eat an enchilada! The only place where we were unhappy with the food was our hotel--the lovely Pueblo Bonito--because it was too Americanized and poor quality. Very surprising because everything else is tops.
We’re ready to return to Cabo so we can enjoy Mi Casa’s fine cuisine.
