Jason Quinn, an assistant junior varsity coach at Mater Dei, was suspended two games for fighting after the Monarchs’ game against Dana Hills on Jan. 7, Mater Dei Principal Lyle Porter said.
David Dickens, the Dana Hills’ assistant coach who was involved in the altercation, has written letters of apology to officials at both schools and to Quinn, Dana Hills Athletic Director Rich Skelton said. Skelton said no further action was taken because the school’s investigation determined Dickens was not the instigator.
Quinn sat out the Monarchs’ game Jan. 12 and will not be allowed to coach in the team’s game Jan. 28 against Dana Hills.
