Clinton Report Card

Did President Clinton earn passing grades for his first year in office?
About 200 Orange County business people will have an opportunity to register their opinions at “Bill Clinton’s First Anniversary Report Card,” sponsored by UCI Graduate School of Management. The event will be Thursday, one year after the President’s inauguration.
Richard McKenzie, a UCI economist who specializes in government policy, will open the program with his own evaluation. He wouldn’t provide a sneak preview saying, “I don’t want to give away the punch line.”
Rather than reading, ‘riting and ‘rithmetic, Clinton will be graded on leadership, economic growth, health care and international trade policies.
The two-hour event begins at 7:30 a.m. and includes breakfast. It will take place at the Arnold & Mabel Beckman Center, next to the UCI campus. Cost is $20. To order tickets, call (714) 856-5781.
