SIMI VALLEY : Panel Proposed for Cultural Arts Center
Simi Valley officials are scheduled to meet today to discuss creation of a commission to run the planned $2.8-million Cultural Arts Center.
Acting as the Ad Hoc Cultural Center Committee, council members Judy Mikels and Bill Davis and Planning Commissioner Michael Piper will study design details for the center and review bylaws for the commission.
According to preliminary plans, the commission would be made up of five members who would set policies for the center, Deputy City Manager Bob Heitzman said.
If approved, the commission proposal will be sent to the City Council for final consideration within the next month.
Commissioners will be recruited for one- and two-year terms, Heitzman said.
The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Simi Valley City Hall.
