SAN CLEMENTE : Memorabilia-Filled Room Honors Nixon
- Share via
Call it Orange County’s other Richard Nixon museum.
It can’t match the size and notoriety of Yorba Linda’s Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace, but San Clemente’s one-room exhibition does offer visitors plenty of information about the 37th President.
The President Richard Nixon Room is part of the Spanish Village Historical Center, in the Casa Romantica mansion on Avenida Granada.
The room is filled with newspaper articles, photos, political memorabilia and personal items that focus on Nixon’s 10 years as a resident of San Clemente. From 1970 to 1980, his ocean-side home was known as the Western White House.
The display includes pictures of famous world leaders who met Nixon in San Clemente as well as many books authored by the former President.
The historical center, at 415 Avenida Granada, is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
