MINEOLA, N.Y. — Two court-appointed experts told a judge Tuesday that Colin A. Ferguson is competent to stand trial in the shooting deaths of six people on a Long Island commuter train.
Nassau County District Judge Ira Warshawsky reserved judgment, saying he would give the defense until Friday to present its own report.
A psychiatrist and a psychologist said that Ferguson understands the charges and can aid in his defense. He has been jailed since the Dec. 7 rampage.
