Children’s Foundation Launched: David Dukes, co-chairman of computer distributor Ingram Micro Inc. in Santa Ana, will rub shoulders with best-selling author Tom Clancy and other notables this week as they launch a nonprofit foundation to aid children with life-threatening illnesses.

The Kyle Foundation is being established in Oroville in memory of 7-year-old Kyle Haydock, who recently lost a battle with cancer.

The organization will create an on-line communications network to provide services such as entertainment for use by sick children and updated medical information for their families. Dukes will serve as a member of the board of directors alongside Clancy, actor Tom Selleck, former NBC President Brandon Tartikoff and others.

The network will initially run on Macintosh computers.
