City Officials Neglect a Dangerous Eyesore
- Share via
* It is upsetting to see how continually callous the L.A. Department of Building and Safety is when it comes to Valley concerns. The area on the south side of Ventura Boulevard, between Woodman Avenue and Ventura Canyon Avenue, has been an eyesore and a danger to the community now for more than three years, but (the department) chooses to take no action.
It defiles the very essence of the community. It’s a graffiti writer’s nightly challenge, requiring constant vigilance by a committee to wipe out their scribblings. The Fire Department is often called to put out fires created by individuals who are living there. I personally have seen dope pushers openly selling their wares in the areas behind the buildings.
But to the Building and Safety Department, none of this matters. I wonder whether it would make a difference if one of those worthies lived in the area?
