WEEKEND TV : Rose Parade Coverage Flowers on 12 Stations

The New Year begins today with the splendor of the Rose Parade and the excitement of the Rose Bowl game from Pasadena.
The “Tournament of Roses Parade” begins at 8 a.m. on CBS (Channels 2 and 8), NBC (4, 36 and 39), ABC (7, 3, 10 and 42), KTLA-TV Channel 5, KTTV-TV Channel 11 and KMEX-TV Channel 34.
Actor William Shatner will ride as Grand Marshal and “Fantastic Adventure” is the theme of the 105th trek down Colorado Boulevard.
KTLA will repeat the pageantry at 10:30 a.m., 1, 5 and 7:30 p.m. while Channel 11 will offer a second live broadcast at 10:30 a.m. followed by repeats at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m.
The Rose Bowl matches UCLA against Big Ten champion Wisconsin, which is making its first appearance in Pasadena in 31 years. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. on ABC.
Other bowl telecasts include an NBC triple-header starting with the Fiesta Bowl (Arizona vs. Miami, Fla.) at 10 a.m.; the Cotton Bowl (Texas A&M; vs. Notre Dame) at 1:30 p.m. and the Orange Bowl (Nebraska vs. Florida State) for the national championship at 5 p.m. ABC will carry the Sugar Bowl (Florida vs. West Virginia) at 5:30 p.m.
