Whittaker Electronic Systems, based in Simi Valley, has received a $2.1-million contract for production of a command and control system for the Royal New Zealand Navy.
The order calls for Whittaker to supply three newly developed Data Link Set systems, which allow automated communications between weapons operations and control centers. Two of the systems will be installed aboard warships and a third will be used for training purposes.
Thomas A. Brancati, Whittaker’s president, said additional orders for Data Link are expected from both foreign and domestic customers.
Whittaker is a division of Los Angeles-based Whittaker Corp.
