GLENDALE : New Builder Sought for School Expansion

School board members have for the second time authorized a bidding process to find a contractor for a classroom expansion project that would relieve crowding at Glendale High School.
The initial bids were scrapped in April after confusion arose among contractors over design requirements.
The new bid process, approved by a 4-1 vote Tuesday night, is expected to begin Nov. 1, according to a report by Stephen R. Hodgson, assistant superintendent of business services.
Meanwhile, district officials are waiting for the state architect’s office to approve plans for the 81,000-square-foot building, to be constructed between the school’s cafeteria and girls’ gym.
Hodgson said board members hoped to select a contractor by February. New classrooms at the campus could then open by July 1, 1995.
