Postal Service Spending a Bundle to Replace Logo: The service will spend up to $7 million to put its new emblem on mailboxes and trucks, carrier uniforms and the nation’s 39,613 post offices. “We need to send a clear signal that we are dedicated to a new level of quality, customer focus and competitiveness,” Postmaster General Marvin T. Runyon said in unveiling what has been nicknamed “the new bird,” a stylized eagle’s head designed by a subsidiary of the New York advertising firm Young & Rubicam.
