GARDEN GROVE : Multilingual Video Produced for Parents
The Garden Grove Unified School District has produced an informational video for parents of new students in four languages--English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Korean.
The 20-minute tape is being shown regularly at the district’s Assessment and Registration Center.
It also will be presented for use at local school meetings and can be checked out at all three Garden Grove branches of the Orange County Public Library.
In addition, it will be broadcast on Oct. 12 at 11:30 a.m. and Oct. 14 at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on channel 3A on Cablevision.
The video has information about enrollment procedures, immunization requirements, language assessment, English-language development programs, parent and student expectations, homework responsibilities, proper dress and grooming, special education programs, fine arts programs, an overview of the curriculum, parent education programs, extracurricular activities, parentalinvolvement opportunities and student progress reports.
