Storm Brings 1st Rain of the Season
The first rain of the season fell Sunday night in parts of the Los Angeles Basin and along the Ventura County coast, thanks to a small storm making its way through the San Joaquin Valley and over the Sierra Nevada into Nevada and Idaho.
There will be sunny skies in the Southland today, except for some clouds and coastal fog in the morning.
The rain was the result of a low pressure system moving slowly up the coast of Northern California, and pulling some tropical moisture along with it, according to forecasters at WeatherData Inc., which provides weather information to The Times.
