VENTURA : Council to Consider Business Program
The Ventura City Council today will consider a program designed to keep businesses in Ventura and attract new companies to the city.
The Business Retention/Attraction Program calls for city officials to work closer with local business groups such as the Ventura Chamber of Commerce and the Ventura County Economic Development Assn. to learn how the city can help business.
Business forums and newsletters would be other ways to exchange information with companies. The program could eventually expand to include loans for small businesses.
City Manager John Baker said the program will not cost any money, but some pieces of the plan may take some time to implement.
