DePippo, Cook Combine to Help Pacifica Roll Past Bolsa Grande

GARDEN GROVE — Jeff DePippo and Damien Cook combined for 343 yards and five touchdowns to lead Pacifica to a 46-21 Garden Grove League victory over Bolsa Grande on Thursday night at Bolsa Grande.
The Mariners (3-2, 2-0) scored four consecutive touchdowns to overcome a 21-18, second-quarter deficit. Cook scored on runs of one, 72 and 48 yards and rushed for 166 yards. DePippo rushed for 103 yards and passed for 74. He scored on runs of 48 and 32 yards.
Pacifica took a 12-7 lead on Zack Stigall’s 60-yard interception return with 10 minutes left in the first half. Bolsa Grande’s Hae Sung returned the kickoff 95-yards for a touchdown, making the score 13-12. It was the Matadors’ second kickoff return for a touchdown. Love Jefferson took the opening kickoff back 75 yards for a score, giving Bolsa Grande (2-3, 1-1) a 7-0 lead.
Pacifica regained the lead, 18-13, on DePippo’s first touchdown. Bolsa Grande responded with an 80-yard drive, capped by Tony Alcorn’s nine-yard pass from Brian Baughman to make it 21-18.
DePippo then connected with Mike Parsons for a 64-yard touchdown and the Mariners were never threatened again.
