Invisible Walls

* In response to “Second Opinion,” Voices, Aug. 16:
Rafu Shimpo’s comment, “Sometimes I wonder if ethnic groups go beyond PC and build fences around ourselves with EC--ethnic correctness,” was addressed years ago by Kenneth Clark’s description of the “invisible walls of the ghetto.” We built fences then, and we continue to build them.
Until we understand the walls that have been erected both for us as well as by us, we will never tear them down. We will live our lives inside those invisible, but all too real walls.
