COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Citrus Passes Rancho Santiago in Overtime
Rancho Santiago’s Tom Cerasuolo scored the tying goal with six seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime, but Citrus scored four goals in the extra period to beat the host Dons, 22-20, Wednesday in a nonconference water polo game.
Rancho Santiago (9-1-1), ranked 11th in the state, took a 20-18 lead in overtime before 12th-ranked Citrus scored the final four goals. Josh Routon had seven goals and Jeremy Yorba added six for the Dons.
In South Coast Conference water polo:
Golden West 23, Cerritos 12--Curt Bowman, Jason Young and Steve Wormgoor each scored three goals for visiting Golden West (10-1, 1-0), which led 8-1 after one quarter.
In nonconference women’s volleyball:
Saddleback 3, El Camino 2--Andrea Bill had 24 kills and Vanessa Sweinsberg had 16 kills for visiting Saddleback (3-1), which won, 15-10, 15-13, 11-15, 4-15, 15-10. Kim McIntyre had 16 kills for El Camino (1-3).
Fullerton 3, Mt. San Antonio 0--Niki Kubota had six kills to lead Fullerton (4-2) to a 15-6, 15-10, 15-1 victory. Mt. SAC is 1-4.
