Corona del Mar, Jr.
Water polo / Utility
Corona del Mar’s No. 1-ranked water polo team doesn’t depend on one player to score the majority of its goals, but thus far Hueston has scored the most important ones. He scored winning goals in the fourth quarter against San Clemente and El Toro in the South Coast Tournament. He scored four, three in the fourth quarter, in a 12-11 victory over El Toro in the title game. For the week, Hueston had 20 goals in six victories. “He’s just so aggressive that he tends to be around the ball a lot,” Corona del Mar Coach John Vargas said.
Other notables:
* Enrique Bozman, Los Alamitos, rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns in the Griffins’ 42-0 victory over Marina.
* Tristan Lynch, Santa Ana Valley’s quarterback, rushed for 192 yards in 17 carries in a 30-14 victory over Saddleback.
* Matt Rechner, Trabuco Hills, caught passes for 164 yards and three
touchdowns and intercepted two passes in a 28-21 victory over Villa Park.
