WESTMINSTER : 2 Men Shot, Injured in Fight at Complex
Two men were shot and wounded Sunday night during a fight at an apartment complex in the 7200 block of 21st Street, police said.
Neither of the victims was identified nor hurt seriously. One man was wounded in the ankle and the other in the buttocks. They were treated at UCI Medical Center in Orange and released, said Police Lt. Bill Lewis.
Police have no suspects, Lewis said.
Lewis said a fight apparently broke out about 8 p.m. between two groups of men in their late teens and early 20s who had gathered in the apartments near Golden West Street and Westminster Boulevard.
“As best we can sort it out, there was a fight . . . and somebody from one of the groups produced a handgun and started shooting,” Lewis said. “It was kind of a mess when we got out there. The two people who were shot aren’t really saying much.”
