Church to Dedicate New Sanctuary

The Church of the Foothills will dedicate its new sanctuary and office building on Sunday after an organ recital by John Douglas at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. James Piper, pastor, will give the message “Project Eureka.” Other participants in the service will include Associate Minister Dan Chambers; Adjunct Minister Bernard Davis; congregation President Shirley Sullens; the Rev. Jane Heckles, conference stewardship associate, representing the Southern California Conference of the United Church of Christ; the Rev. John Wolfersberger, regional minister of the Pacific Southwest Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); and Rick Reisinger, representing the Board of Church Extension (Disciples of Christ). Orange County Supervisor Gaddi H. Vasquez and former church pastors will also be present at the 3 p.m. dedication service.
After a 1986 merger with Camile Christian Church, the church represents two denominations: the United Church of Christ and the Disciples of Christ.
Guided tours will be given before and after the service, with a reception following the service at 19211 Dodge Ave., Santa Ana. Information: (714) 544-1319.
