COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Clements, Stone Pace CS Northridge’s Volleyball Victory

Missy Clements had 16 kills and teammate Aimee Stone added 12 kills and 16 digs Saturday to lead Cal State Northridge to a women’s volleyball victory over William & Mary in the final round of the Notre Dame tournament.
Northridge (5-7), which beat William & Mary, 15-10, 8-15, 15-11, 15-5, lost earlier in the day to New Mexico, 15-7, 9-15, 15-8, 15-11. The victory snapped a three-match losing streak for the Matadors.
WATER POLO
Ventura 13, Cuesta 11--Pedro De Lima scored seven goals to lead the Pirates (8-3) in the ninth-place game of the Cuesta tournament at San Luis Obispo.
De Lima scored 18 goals during the two-day tournament, and increased his season total to 43.
MEN’S SOCCER
Master’s 2, Humboldt State 0--Ezequiel Bongarra scored in the 19th minute and Timo Scheunemann scored with one minute remaining to help the Mustangs (4-1-1) win the championship of the Sunbird tournament at Fresno Pacific.
CROSS-COUNTRY
Aztec Invitational--Lori Miller of Cal State Northridge finished 26th to lead the Matador women to an 11th-place finish at Balboa Park in San Diego.
Miller, a sophomore from Bakersfield, timed 18 minutes 36 seconds over the 5,000-meter course to help Northridge to a 309-point total.
Northridge totaled 375 points to finish 10th in the men’s race, which was won by Stanford with 62.
