Author and former Yale University history professor Peter Gay will present a lecture on the origins of violence, hatred and war at a Camarillo restaurant Tuesday.
Gay, whose new book, “The Cultivation of Hatred,” will be available for purchase and signing before the lecture, is scheduled to speak at 6 p.m. at Ottavio’s Banquet Center, 340 N. Mobil Ave.
The author-lecturer will address the origins of violence, hatred and war in Western society and in the United States, said Cindy Cooke, executive director of the World Affairs Council of Ventura County, which is hosting the event.
Advance tickets cost $15 for council members and $25 for non-members. Tickets at the door are $20 for members and $30 for non-members, Cooke said.
