THOUSAND OAKS : Performers for Plaza Debut Must Apply
Musicians, dancers, actors and other artists interested in performing during the grand opening season next fall of the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks must apply by Oct. 1, officials said.
Entertainers must outline their acts in a proposal and complete an application form to be considered for performance at either the Forum Theatre or Civic Auditorium in the opening season from mid-October through December next year, officials said.
Proposals will first be considered by a subcommittee reviewing plans for the grand opening, officials said. Those recommendations will be reviewed by the Civic Auditorium Forum Theatre Performing Arts Commission before heading to the City Council for approval.
The $64-million, 24-acre Civic Arts Plaza is under construction at the former Jungleland site. When finished, it will house City Hall in addition to the 1,800-seat auditorium and 400-seat theater.
