CSUN Women Stage Rally to Defeat Loyola

The Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team overcame a two-game deficit to beat Loyola Marymount, 3-15, 10-15, 17-15, 15-11, 15-7, Tuesday night in a nonconference match at Loyola Marymount.
Aimee Stone led the attack with 24 kills for the Matadors (2-4), who were two points from being defeated in the third game before staging their rally.
Ana Kristich added 12 kills and Missy Clements had 11 for CSUN. Defensively, Heather Anderson and Clements combined for 26 digs.
The Lions (3-2) outhit Northridge, 76-61. The Matadors recorded 13 blocks to Loyola Marymount’s five.
The Matadors suffered from a poor hitting percentage (.038) in the first game but improved their percentage in every game.
Kathleen Bunce led the Lions with 22 kills and 12 digs. Robin Ortgiesen had 60 of the Lion’s 66 set assists.
