CSUN Drops Two in Volleyball Tournament

The Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team lost a pair of matches in round-robin play of the Arizona State tournament on Saturday at Tempe, Ariz. The Matadors lost to Cal State Sacramento, 7-15, 15-5, 15-10, 15-12, and to Santa Clara, 15-2, 15-8, 15-7.
The Matadors (1-4) had a .138 hitting percentage against Sacramento and .063 against Santa Clara. Missy Clements and Aimee Stone led Northridge with 18 and 16 kills, respectively, against Sacramento. No Matador had more than five kills against Santa Clara.
Sacramento’s Suzie Severyn had 33 assists to lead the Hornets in the first game. Kris Kosnoski had 31 assists for Santa Clara in the second game.
