Carolco Signs Pay TV Deal With Encore: The producer of such big-budget films as “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” “Basic Instinct” and “Cliffhanger” agreed to provide Encore exclusive pay television rights to up to 20 films, starting with 1994 theatrical releases. Four of those films made available to Encore may premiere on pay-per-view under a previously announced deal between Carolco and cable giant Tele-Communications Inc. Separately, Carolco began an exchange offer for notes under a financial reorganization to revamp the ailing producer.
