BURBANK : Warner Bros., Schools Start Job Training Course
Warner Bros. has joined with the Burbank Unified School District to create a program to prepare high school juniors and seniors for jobs in the movie and television industries.
“We’re not trying to produce mini-John Singletons or mini-Ron Howards,” said Kapuua d’auClawre, director of public affairs for the Burbank studio, which has formed the Warner Bros. Cinema/Video Academy. “The goal of this program is to prepare students for the job market.”
The academy, a partnership between the school district and the studio, will offer classes to 15 to 20 students at a time. The two-hour programs deal with script writing, pre-production, technical jobs, film editing, sound effects and even catering.
