George Margolin Reaches Settlement with Sharp Corp.: The Newport Beach resident said he reached agreement in July on a lawsuit that alleged Sharp’s Wizard organizer infringed on his patented technology. Specific terms of the settlement, such as whether money changed hands, are confidential, he said. Margolin sued Sharp in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles in February, 1992, after he saw Sharp’s brand-new Wizard, a pocket-size electronic organizer. Margolin said the interchangeable circuit card that plugs into the Wizard’s keyboard could be considered a replaceable keyboard, an invention covered by his 1976 patent.
