BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : DODGERS : Mondesi Is Recalled to Replace Davis

Center fielder Raul Mondesi has been called up from triple-A Albuquerque to replace Eric Davis on the roster.

Fred Claire said that the reason he gave for trading Davis, the team’s youth movement, does not affect whether or not he picks up the option on Brett Butler’s contract. Claire said that he has a “very strong interest” in re-signing Jody Reed, who will be a free agent after this season.
