The Ventura County Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of a masked man who robbed a Thousand Oaks drugstore at gunpoint Aug. 8.
Witnesses told Ventura County sheriff’s deputies that a man wearing a nylon stocking over his face entered Clark Drugs in Westlake Village about 9 p.m. that night and followed the manager into the store’s office.
There, the robber turned off the lights and aimed a blue-steel 9-millimeter pistol at the manager’s face and demanded that he open the locked safe and hand over the cash, police said.
The manager complied, stuffing the money into a blue denim duffel bag supplied by the robber, who then fled.
The robber is described as a black man age 28 to 35, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 300 pounds, with wavy, black collar-length hair, and a thin mustache.
The man had a rash under his chin and appeared to be right-handed, according to police reports.
Anyone with information is asked to call Ventura County Crime Stoppers. The numbers are (805) 494-TALK for Thousand Oaks and Moorpark residents, 987-TALK for Camarillo residents, 986-TALK for Port Hueneme residents and 385-TALK for Oxnard residents.
Callers may remain anonymous and, if the information leads to an arrest and prosecution, may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
