Software: Maverick British entrepreneur Richard Branson has linked up with G.I. Joe. Toy giant Hasbro Inc., known for such products as Monopoly and Tonka trucks in addition to the ever-popular G.I. Joe, plans to pay $25 million for a 15% stake in Virgin Interactive Entertainment, the entertainment software unit of Branson’s Virgin Communications Ltd. The two companies also plan a joint venture. Virgin Interactive develops and publishes games for use on Nintendo and Sega systems, personal computers and for use in CD-ROM formats. Branson made his first fortune in the record business.
