Jerome Thor; Star of 1950s TV Series

Jerome Thor, 69, who created the role of Robert Cannon in the 1950s TV series “Foreign Intrigue.” The syndicated mystery, which ran from 1951 to 1955, was filmed in Europe where the location shots and scenery were credited with much of the program’s success. He had also appeared on the Broadway stage in “He Who Gets Slapped,” “My Sister Eileen,” “Golden Boy” and more, moving into television with guest appearances on “Studio One,” “Suspense” and other pioneering dramatic series. His motion picture credits include “Riot in Juvenile Prison,” “55 Days at Peking,” “St. Ives” and “10 to Midnight.” In Westwood on Aug. 12 of an apparent heart attack.
