Area Babe Ruth Team Stays Alive in Regional
Adrian Perez was three for three, leading Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks to a 9-2 victory Thursday over Belmont (Calif.) in the losers’ bracket of the Babe Ruth Regional World Series in Elk Grove, Calif.
Manny Mosqueda added two hits, and Juan Montes entered in the first and pitched six innings of relief to pick up the victory. Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks will face Elk Grove at 5 p.m. today. The winner of that game will meet Hollister (Calif.) for the championship on Saturday.
