King Returns to Speedway Winner’s Circle

COSTA MESA — Lance King of Huntington Beach won his first scratch main event in more than eight years at the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program Friday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

King took the inside lane out of the gate and went on to a wire-to-wire victory. Scott Brant of Hesperia was second, Louis Kossuth of Diamond Bar third and Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano fourth.

Steve Lucero won the eight-lap handicap main event and Gary Hicks of Riverside was second.
