Birtcher Medical’s German Connection: In a deal that could boost its sales by $5.5 million over the next two years, Birtcher Medical Systems Inc. said Thursday it has signed a contract to supply a leading German electrosurgery equipment manufacturer with argon gas blood coagulation equipment and related accessories.
The agreement gives ERBE Elektromedizin GmbH non-exclusive rights to market the products under its own name in all countries except the United States, Japan and China. No license of technology has been given by either party.
Birtcher Medical Systems, based in Irvine, develops, makes and sells surgical products and related accessories for hospital operating rooms, surgery centers and physicians’ offices. It is a major supplier of equipment, instruments and accessories used in minimally invasive, or endoscopic, surgery.
