Is Knox Thinking Too Low or Too High?

So Chuck Knox’s major goal is to make the playoffs. Hey, Chuck, why don’t you give Barry Melrose a call over at the Forum? Melrose doesn’t believe in that kind of talk. Last season, his first, he told his players that the only goal they had was to win the Stanley Cup and he darned near pulled it off.

Chuck, the only reason you are coach is to take your team to the top. Or is there something I am missing here? Motivation is, surely, a key ingredient. If Lombardi were around, you could ask him.
