Slain Woman Had Let Court Order Expire

The 28-year-old woman gunned down by her boyfriend in a Reseda house Thursday had obtained a restraining order against the man that expired about a month and a half ago, police said Friday.
Irene Rivera obtained the temporary court order, but it expired May 11 and she moved back into the man’s house about a week ago, Los Angeles Police Detective Rick Swanston said.
Michael Silva, 28, shot and killed Rivera in the bedroom of the home the couple shared with Silva’s parents before he fatally shot himself, police said.
Police said Silva was distraught about Rivera’s recent miscarriage, which he blamed on her failure to take care of herself.
